Hello. I am Mrs. Deb Kessler. I live in Beulah with Max, my husband and DeeDee, our yellow lab. I taught second grade for five years and then special education until my retirement in 2009 from a small, rural school in midwestern Illinois (on the Mississippi River between Peoria and the Quad Cities). We were both raised on farms with cows, hogs, corn and soybeans.
Max and I have vacationed in the Crystal Lake area for a number of years. So, we actually chose to retire in the most beautiful place in America. After Max went to work for an orchard farmer from our church, I decided I missed having my own classroom. (I had been substitute teaching.) When I heard that Buckley was going to split the first grade into two classes the fall of 2014, I applied. I was offered the class six days before school began. Talk about a quick introduction to Buckley! Wow!
And now, I find I love Buckley the town, Buckley the school, and especially, Buckley students. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. I want your child's first grade experience to be first rate.
